Ingredients Required

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves crushed
  • 5 oz. (1½ cups) celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 cup calm juice
  • 1½ cups heavy whipped cream
  • 2 tsp dried sage or dried thyme
  • ½ lemon, juice, and zest
  • 4 oz. (½ cup) cream cheese
  • 1 lb salmon, bone-free fillets, or other hardy fish, fillets have been cut into 1″ pieces.
  • 2 oz. (2 cups) baby spinach
  • 8 oz. the shrimp has been peeled and removed
  • salt and black pepper
  • ½ tbsp red pepper
  • fresh sage, which you can choose to garnish

Step-by-Step Direction to cook Keto Seafood Chowder

Step 1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Step 2. Add garlic and celery. Cook for about five minutes, stirring occasionally. Add clam juice, cream, cream cheese, sage, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes without a lid.
Step 3. Add the shrimp and fish. Let stand for 3 minutes or until the fish is cooked. Add the baby spinach and stir until tender.
Step 4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5. Sprinkle with fresh red pepper and fresh sage before serving to add more flavor and color.

Notes

  • As an optional addition, consider adding crushed chili flakes, as a garnish on soup. These add a nice hot zest to the already delicious soup.
  • As with all fish-based soups and stews, keto seafood chowder is best when it’s freshly made. However, if you have leftovers, you can heat them gently the next day and they are just as good. Store it in a covered container in the fridge.
  •  Don’t keep it longer than two or three days in the refrigerator and it’s not a recipe that freezes well.
