Is Garcinia Cambogia Keto friendly or not in a Keto diet!

Is Garcinia Cambogia Keto friendly or not in a keto diet!

This is a very common question that often arises when it comes to weight loss. Many people think that the product which causes weight loss is Keto. This conception is completely wrong.

While discussing this topic we should know what is a Keto or a Ketogenic Diet? “Ketogenic” is a term for a low-carb diet. The thought is for you to get more calories from protein and fat and fewer from carbs. This means Keto diet/food should be something that will be rich in fats (approx 70%), moderate in protein (approx 30%), and low in carbohydrate(approx 3-4%).

Now to know whether Garcinia cambogia is Keto or not, we should know its Nutritional Values. The rind of Garcinia is high in phytochemical content including hydroxycitric acid and other compounds like polyphenols, luteolin, and kaempferol. Per 100 g of rind contains about 17.2 g of carbs and 0.5 g fat, 2.3 g protein, 1.24 g of fiber, 15.14 mg of iron, and 250 mg of calcium, 10 mg, ascorbic acid, and 18.10 mg of oxalic acid.

From here we can clearly find out that the amount of carbohydrates is much higher than proteins & fats present in Garcinia cambogia. So if someone takes Garcinia cambogia while he/she is on the Keto diet, he/she will take a larger amount of carbs than proteins or fat. This might result in getting out of ketosis.

Takeaway

Hoping that you have got the answer to the question “Is Garcinia Cambogia Keto friendly or not in a Keto diet!” now.

Garcinia cambogia may help with weight loss individually but will not work as a weight loss aid when combined with Keto. In other words, Garcinia cambogia is not Keto & one should not take Garcinia cambogia when following a keto diet.
